Philippa trained in corporate and property taxation at international City firm Richards Butler (which subsequently became Reed Smith). Philippa later joined Field Seymour Parkes in Reading where she set up a tax practice. After 15 years spent working within firms, Philippa then established her own private tax practice consulting for firms like Jonathan Lea

  • In addition to her work as a consulting tax solicitor, Philippa is involved with a number of other business ventures, including the production and distribution of a range of chilli condiments and liqueurs under the brand of Arson Fire. In her spare time Philippa enjoys DIY and beach combing.

Over the last year Philippa has advised:

  • a UK property rental company based offshore on repatriation of the business to the UK;
  • multiple companies, across different sectors on the operation and availability of the Enterprise Investment Scheme;
  • extensively on tax efficient incentive packages for employees and directors (in particular the use of growth share schemes and Enterprise Management Incentive share option plans);
  • numerous companies on how to tax effectively demerge (split) the business;
  • property rental business owners (both companies and individuals) on the tax efficient structuring of their businesses;
  • property developers on how to tax effectively structure their projects (including approaches to joint venture arrangements);
  • advising on stamp duty land tax rates and reliefs; and
  • on numerous share sales and acquisitions on the use of tax indemnities and warranties.
