Fatim Khan

Fatim is a first-generation legal professional and Trainee Solicitor at The Jonathan Lea Network, having joined the firm initially as a paralegal. He provides end-to-end support across corporate and commercial matters, including corporate acquisitions and structures, commercial property, and finance transactions.

In addition to his transactional work, Fatim has experience working on commercial disputes, particularly those arising from business relationships and contractual arrangements. He brings a proactive and commercially attuned approach to supporting the firm’s broad range of SME and startup clients.

Fatim has also authored a research report analysing the impact of institutional financing and its governing legislation within the energy sector.

On the academic front, he completed the LPC alongside a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Mergers & Acquisitions with a focus on its intersection with debt finance and intellectual property.

Interests

Outside of work, Fatim maintains an active lifestyle by going to the gym and playing tennis. He is also an avid horse rider and polo player and enjoys playing the sport in his hometown.

Recent Work

• Assisted on a share sale transaction that involved multiple rounds of negotiations throughout all stages with a particular focus on restrictive covenants, waiver arrangements, and post-completion mechanics.
• Caseworked on a corporate group reorganisation involving a share-for-share exchange with a holding company, which involved preparing HMRC applications, share exchange agreements and corporate resolutions, and managing post-completion enquiries.
• Assisted on a commercial lease for office units, which involved conducting extended due diligence on the transaction to align the existing property rights with the new interests and focusing on repair, alteration, and covenant provisions.
• Caseworked on a matter for building leaseholders exercising their statutory Right to Manage (RTM) against a freeholder in liquidation, including drafting statutory notices, negotiating agreements, and coordinating handover mechanics.
