We are the Firmballs 2024 Champions! 🏆
The Jonathan Lea Network took part in the Firmballs Tournament on Thursday 23rd May, at the Amex Stadium in Brighton and emerged winners! 🎉⚽
It was a fantastic morning filled with thrilling matches. Our team, featuring Jonathan Lea, Callum Richie, and some of Callum’s friends from Hove FC, played exceptionally well.
Here’s how the morning unfolded:
⚽ We started strong, winning 3-0 against the Focus Group, with Jonathan Lea scoring the third goal after a brilliant pass from Callum Richie.
⚽ The next game ended 0-0 against Deloitte.
⚽ We secured another win, 2-0, against DMH, making us top of the group, unbeaten, with no goals conceded, and into the quarter-finals!
⚽ In the quarter-finals, we triumphed 2-1 against Allen & Overy, advancing to the semi-finals.
⚽ We clinched the victory in the semi-finals, and in the finals, we beat Foster & Co Estate Agents 1-0 to win the tournament!
Firmballs is an incredible tournament organised by Sam Thomas each year, bringing together businesses and professionals for the ultimate 7-a-side football competition. Playing at the American Express Community Stadium was a thrilling experience!
Not only is Firmballs about football, but it also raises money for two fantastic charities: Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and The Starr Trust.
As winners of the tournament, we won £1,000 to donate to the charity of our choice. We have decided to split this across three charities: The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, The Starr Trust, and Rett UK.
