The Jonathan Lea Network continues to demonstrate exceptional resilience and the success of our business model in the face of challenging times, so much so that we are pleased to identify ourselves as one of the South East’s fastest growing law firms over the last two years.
We recently compared our financial figures during the first quarter of 2020 against the first quarter of 2022. In spite of the government economic restrictions imposed during this time, with many businesses shutting their doors and furloughing staff and the UK economy recording its worst economic performance for more than 300 years in 2020, we managed to organically increase our turnover by 130% over this two-year period. We are delighted that this clearly shows we are providing exceptional value to our clients and our services are in increasing demand.
We are also one of very few law firms (if not the only one in Sussex) to move into much larger premises over the last year so as to accommodate our further expansion and also demonstrate our confident and bold approach.
We have continued to recruit many new staff, including our newest senior solicitor Adrian Samuel, an experienced employment and commercial litigation solicitor. Adrian joins us next month and will not only further strengthen our team but also allow the firm to create more junior opportunities in the process.
Finally, we continue to build on the success of our yearly summer holiday placement scheme for law students, whereby 12 successful candidates spend a couple of weeks working in our Haywards Heath office. In fact, during the summer of 2020 we believe we were the only firm in the UK to host work experience students in our office! Each year we aim to offer one or two full time jobs to those who have completed one of these placements. We have earned a strong reputation for our junior recruitment and our trainee solicitors are held in high-esteem, while we see this continued focus on creating entry level positions and developing people quickly as key to growing our business.
About Jonathan Lea
Jonathan is a specialist business law solicitor who has been practising for over 18 years, starting at the top international City firms before then spending some time at a couple of smaller practices. In 2013 he started working on a self-employed basis as a consultant solicitor, while in 2019 The Jonathan Lea Network became a SRA regulated law firm itself after Jonathan got tired of spending all day referring clients and work to other law firms.
The Jonathan Lea Network is now a full service firm of solicitors that employs senior and junior solicitors, trainee solicitors, paralegals and administration staff who all work from a modern open plan office in Haywards Heath. This close-knit retained team is enhanced by a trusted network of specialist consultant solicitors who work remotely and, where relevant, combine seamlessly with the central team.
